    When and where does IPS exam will be conducted? Where should I apply for it? What is the syllabus for IPS exam?

    In order to become IPS Officer, you will have to crack CIVIL SERVICES EXAMINATION being conducted by UPSC every year.

    Paper I - (200 marks) Duration: Two hours
    Current events of national and international importance
    History of India and Indian National Movement
    Indian and World Geography
    Indian Polity and Governance
    Economic and Social Development
    General issues on Environmental ecology, Bio-diversity and Climate Change
    General Science.

    Paper II- (200 marks) Duration: Two hours
    Comprehension
    Interpersonal skills including communication skills;
    Logical reasoning and analytical ability
    Decision making and problem solving
    General mental ability
    Basic numeracy (numbers and their relations, orders of magnitude etc.) (Class X level)
    Data interpretation (charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency etc. -Class X level)
    English Language Comprehension skills (Class X level).


    Part B - Main Examination - Optional Subjects

    Paper-I One of the Indian Languages to be selected by the candidate from the 22 languages included in the VIIIth Schedule to the Constitution (Qualifying Paper) 300 Marks
    Paper-II English 300 Marks
    Paper-III Essay[in the medium you choose] 200 Marks
    Papers IV & V General studies(300 Marks for each paper) 600 Marks
    Papers VI, VII, VIII & IX Any two subjects (each having 2 papers) to be selected from the prescribed optional subjects (300 marks for each paper) 1200 Marks
    Total Marks for Written Examination 2000 Marks

    Hi Aspirant,


    IPS stands for Indian Police Service.

    UPSC recruits the candidates for the post of IPS through Civil Service Exam.

    This exam is conducted once in a year. Through civil exam you can also apply for IAS or IRS post.

    These are the most reputed jobs of India.

    In this you can not apply for CSE exam, you will have to wait for next year 2013.

    UPSC will issue the notification till last of the year.

    But you should start the preparation from now.

    Civil Service exam will be conducted the UPSC authorized examination center across the country.

    You can see the list of examination center in previous notification.

    You can apply for civil exam through UPSC.

    UPSC provide two type of application

    Online

    Offline

    If you want to fill online application, visit

    you can purchase offline application form from head post office of your city.

    Application fee: Rs. 100.

    Application fee can be paid via SBI challan, Net banking, Debit card or CRF stamp.

    Interview (300 marks)

    You age should be between 21-30 years
    You must Graduate pass

    Examination:

    1. Preliminary Examination (written test)
    2. Main Examination. (written test and interview)
