Well yes Arts students get some benefit in the
Upsc exam as they have subjects like History and Geography
And also have subjects like Economics and these will help
The Arts students in the optional choice subjects also
Because the subjects like history and political are scoring subjects
And you can score a good total in these subjects
And these subjects helps in the general studies subject also
Because in general studies these subjects comes along with
The present and science subjects
For the Exam the candidate must be pass in the graduation
From a recognized Indian university or the candidate
Should be pass in any equivalent degree to graduation
Also the final year aspirants allowed to sit in the exam
And the age of the candidate should be between 21 to 30
Also for the obc category the age limit 21 to 33
And the age limit for the sc,st is 21 to 35
Attempts are also given to the general 4
And attempts given to the obc 7
Also attempts allowed to the sc,st unlimited

First of all you have to know all the syllabus of your concerned exams and you should be having question papers of at least last five years the more the better.
Then
it is very important to be updated in �current affairs� in all fields
For History, Economy, Polity, etc, you should read Class 11 and 12 books published by the NCERT
For general knowledge and objective-type questions, refer to the book �General Knowledge Refresher by O.P. Khanna� or any other as you like..
you should try to read up as many business and political magazines, newspapers etc
These are some techniques that you can use for prepartions of UPSC exams remaining is upon you..
You will certainly have benefits in History and Economics section as you have studied these subjects in detail.
