language is a medium of communication.India is diverse country with 44 official language and 130 unofficial (local in total) language. We where under the British there for English is spread across India. there for it is used as offical languageand HINDI is known to majority of people but minority Indians (mainly south Indians ) cannot handle. where as English can be handled by boththerefor English is compulsory.....

The basic fact is that whether it is English or any other language,you must know that the language is the mode of communication,you cannot go a single step ahead if you do not have the language knowledge,how would you survive without communicating it is absolutely impossible.
Now why English have so much of importance,the answer is simple it is that language which is spoked in all the countries, the common medium of communication,every literate in any country is it is capable of communicating through it.So it becomes very important for the one specially those who are in the top of the services of Indian administration that they speak properly the language which is the common for all the people.
That is why English is considered to be the common and the very necessary subject.
