First of all You have to tell us in which exam you want to appear. If you want to appear in IAS/IPS examination then Network Security Knowledge is not enough.

You should go for the General Studies, General English knowledge for UPSC Prelims exam and for Mains exam

There are 51 Optional subject in UPSC Mains Exam.

23 Subject is the main subject and other are language subjects like Hindi, English, Bengali.

In 23 subjects there are no any computer related subject .

THE NETWORK SECURITY WILL NOT HELP YOU OUT IN THE PRELIMS EXAM OF THE UPSC BECAUSE IN THE PRELIMS EXAM THE CANDIDATE HAVE TO BE MORE FOCUSED ON THE GENERAL KNOWLEDGE, ENGLISH, MATHEMATICS AND CURRENT AFFAIRS.
AFTER CLEARING THE PRELIMS EXAM THE CANDIDATE HAVE TO GO FOR MAIN EXAM IN WHICH THERE ARE MORE THAN 20 SUBJECTS FROM WHICH THE CANDIDATE HAVE TO CHOOSE 2 SUBJECTS. NETWORK SECURITY KNOWLEDGE WILL ALL BE A GOOD EXPERIENCE FOR THE CANDIDATE.
