Hello,
You can very wel take Zooloy and Botany as your optional subjects for IFoS exam as there is no rule that bars this combination of subject for any otherwise eligible candidate for this exam. However, if you are giving it for the first time, I would like to tell you that since candidates from science background is allowed in this exam, the exam papers are set with a high level of difficulty as compared to those in Civil service exam for the same subject.
Also , the medium of examination is only English unlike in CSE. Also the English paper marks is added to final tally of marks. So, to secure a place in final list, you must have a good command over English language.
