First of all don't enter civil services or any other armed services for getting high paid jobs or facilities. Its a service and an opportunity to serve the country. Take this job seriously. Anyways my job is to clear your doubt. IAS is the highest grade in civil service category. It is very high paid job compared to Armed forces as the grade pay and the basic salary is high. Of course the facilities and accomodation also is best in case of IAS only as it is in city level.

IAS is the biggest exam in the UPSC civil service exam.
It is the highest post given in the civil services in All india.
So in my point of view you must go with the IAS instead of Army officer if you want to earn more salary and reputation.

although both the choices are very prestigious but according to my opinion IAS officer is more powerful and also more prestigious title

then any other job in India.

and also any body can not become an armed officer because it required physical and mental fitness both according the norms of

department while in IAS a strong person with strong mental health can be eligible for the post ...

Educational requirements:-
* The aspirants must be a graduate form a govt. recognized university.

Nationality required:-
* the candidate must be a permanent citizen of India, and holds the citizenship of our country.

Age requirements:-
* for general : 21-30 years.

* for obc :- 3 years age relaxation.

* for sc/st:- 5 years age relaxation.

there are an age relaxation also provided for the PWD and EX-SERVIEMEN candidates as the govt . norms ad according to law ie:- 10

years and 5 years respectively.


and the No. of attempts allowed ( according to category of the aspirants).



for general category:- 4 attempts only.

for obc category:- 7 attempts maximum.

for sc/st category:- no any restriction.

IAS is the highest post in the civil service examinations.
So this is the best post in the salary point of view and the status point of view.
There are many posts in the armed officers.
The salary of the IAS ranges in between 30,000-40,000 rupees per month and for army officer is 20,000-35,000 per month.

So IAS is the best job.

in terms of salary accomodation and other perks, the job of the armed officer is better but in terms of power and authority ias officer is far more ahead than the armed officer,
an ias officer enjoys tremendous power and authority and holds an important role in the administration.

Both jobs(IAS and Armed force) are good at their own place.

But according to my view, IAS post is good as compare to Armed force.

IAS Post is much respected post of our central Government. It has more power and Authority.

IAS post status is at high level

IAS post gives More salary as compare to Armed officer post.

In Junior Scale, the new recruit joins at the pay band,

Rs: 15,600 � 39,100


on observing other perks, IAS post is better than Armed Officer.
