IPS and IAS officers get same salary at the start of their career.
at the time of joining, the pay scale is 15600 - 39100 . grade pay 5400. all newly commissioned officers get this pay from the period of training or probation to the period of promotion.
the difference of salary, arises only later based on years of service. Thus the difference in salary arises after 4 years of service( because, only after 4 years of service, they will get promotion, untill then they get the same pay) and increases progressively till the retirement of IAS and IPS officers.

My dear as far as salary is concerned if you go to differentiate salary between ias and ips basically both follow same pay scale only few allowances vary.

The scale is:-
15600-39100 plus da and usual allowances and perks


& for seniors 37400 to 67000 with da and usual allowances and perks.
