Sir, Can i appear for IAS exam before commencement of B.com Final year Result.Other lang.(I am B.com final year student.My exam will be held on April,2013.But i want apply for I.A.S Exam 2013.Can i apply for IAS Exam)

Eligibility Criteria To Apply for UPSC Civil Service Exam 2013 :

A bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university and if the candidate is pursuing final year of the degree or appearing for final year exams or awaited for final year result then also he/she is eligible to apply for IAS preliminary exam

Age of the candidate should not be less than 21 years and more than 30 years and relaxation in upper age would be provided as per government guidelines which is 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC category candidates

Dear you are pursuing final year of your B.Com degree and your final year exams would be conducted in April 2013 so that there is no problem means you can apply for IAS preliminary exam but there is a condition that if you clear the prelims exam and when you would apply for mains exam then you should have your final year result in your hand means you should have completed your bachelor's degree before applying for mains exam because you would have to provide your final year percentage marks in the application form of mains exam.

UPSC board were announced the dates of IAS prelims exam but due to some unforeseen circumstances the board canceled the dates of application for this exam but the examination date is exist which is - 19th of february 2013 so that you would have to appear for prelims exam at the mentioned date and the dates for online application would be announced again soon so that you should keep visiting at www.upsc.gov.in - Examination to get the dates for this exam and prepare

The acronym IAS stands for the Indian Administration Services.Civil services examination is conducted for the IAS every year by the UPSC.

Now coming to your eligibility towards civil services examinations.

The minimum requirement is that you should have bachelor's degree in any discipline from are recognised university.Even if you are in final year you can apply for the examinations.

It does not matter at the time applying for the examination whether you result has come or not.

B.com is a graduation degree course after graduation everyone are eligible for civil services exam.

Age must be under 21-30 years.

General candidates has 4 attempts to apply and BC candidates has 7 attempts to apply and SC/ST candidates has no limit to apply for same.

Yes a final year student can appear for IAS examination provided that he/she has to submit graduation certificate at the time of Interview.

Qualification For IAS:

Educational Qualification-

-> Degree of graduation or equivalent degree from recognized University.

-> Final years graduation student can also apply.

Age Limit-

-> For general candidates minimum age is 21 year and maximum age is 30 year.

-> For SC/ST candidate minimum age is 21 year and maximum age is 35 years.

-> For OBC candidate minimum age is 21 year and maximum age is 33 years.

-> for Physically disable candidate minimum age is 21 year and maximum age is 40.

Nationality-

-> Must be a citizen of India.
