yes dear you can definitely apply for civil services examination, since the age limit for obc candidates is 21 to 33 years, on the 1st day of the year in which the exam is going to be conducted
all the best
happy learning!!!
dear
Of course you are eligible to apply for IAS exam.
The eligibility criteria based on age says that:
You must have attained 21 years of age and must not have crossed 30 years of age on 1st august of the year of examination with age relaxation of 3 years to OBC category candidates and 5 years to SC/ST/PD category candidates.
Since you belong to OBC category you still haven't crossed the upper age limit.
And hence you are eligible.
Best of Luck.
Thank you
No you will not be eligible for next year. The date of births are calculated not on the 1st day of year.It is calculated as between 2nd August of Maximum year to 1st August of Minimum year.Even though you belong to OBC category and you are having age limit till 33years,but your D.O.B falls before 2nd August of the maximum year i.e. 1980 for 2014 CS.You will not be eligible. You can prepare if you wish but that will be heart breaking for you.

Friend, presently you are around 32 years old. And you belong to the OBC category, so you have full eligibility for the IAS Examination this year only. As a candidate of OBC category can apply for UPSC Examination upto the age of 33 years only. But you will not be eligible for UPSC Examination next year as you will be over-aged at that time.# Minimum age required for applying to the UPSC Examination is 20 years.# Maximum age set for applying UPSC Examination is 30 years only.# However, there is the provision of relaxation in upper age for all the reserved category.# Candidate of reserved category can availed the age relaxation in upper age by 5 years for SC/ST category, by 3 years for OBC category and by 10 years for Physically Handicapped category.
