NO YOU CAN NOT BECOME IPS OFFICER WITH DIPLOMA AS A QUALIFICATION.

The educational qualification required for applying in IPS is graduation from any stream.
Diploma is equivalent to 10+2 and to graduation.

As diploma is equivalent only to 10+2,so you can not apply for IPS.

You will have to complete B.TECH ,that is degree to apply for IPS.

no dear you cannot apply for civil services examination after doing diploma, you must atleast persue a graduation degree in any field from an ugc recognised university, to be eligible for upsc civil services examination.

Minimum qualification is required that candidate must be passed his/her graduation and also can apply in last year of graduation.

Diploma is not equivalent to graduation . So, firstly go for graduation.

After diploma in engineering you are eligible for lateral entry course.

IPS stands for Indian police Services comes into civil services . For that you give civil services examination.

Your age must be under 21-30 years.
3 years age relaxation for BC candidate and 5 years of age relaxation for SC/ST candidate.

The minimum qualification required for IPS or Civil Service is Graduation.You need to complete your graduation to be eligible for IPS.You are a diploma candidate,you should take admission into lateral entry of B.Tech either through AMIE or through any fulltime classroom program of any college recognised by AICTE.Once you are in final year of engineering you will be eligible for applying in Civil services.Get enrolled for B.Tech/BE and then start preparation.All the best

I am very sorry to announce that you will not be eligible for any upsc examination being a diploma holder,

you must have a graduation degree with a govt. recognized university to sit in any examination of upsc .

yes there are two exams which not require the graduation degree but higher secondary,,,but there is a short age criteria in which

you may not be fit even if you have the 12th certificate.


so here i would like to advise you to first concentrate on completing your graduation with a govt. recognized college and university

along with the preparation for the IPS and then try to achieve your goal after it.

to become an IPS officer you must give the examination of civil services which is a combined examination conducted by upsc every year

once for all the civil services of India.

but before you go toward your goal you must know the path of your goal ie the requirements of examination which you must have to

fulfill to be eligible for the same.


Basic requirements:-

* there are two basic requirements for the CSE examination .


1. the candidate must holds the citizenship of India.

2. he /she must have a graduation degree.


Age requirements:-


1. for general category:- between 21-30 years.

2. for obc category:- between 21-33 years.

3. for sc/st category:- between 21-35 years.


age relaxations are also provided to the central govt employees and physically handicapped persons of 5 and 10 years respectively.

Diploma is not valid for any of the UPSC exam.
For IPS exam you must have bachelor degree from any stream from a recognized university and your age must be in between 21-30 years.
So you will be eligible for the IPS exam after graduation.

I am sorry to say but you are not eligible of giving the upsc exam being a diploma holder in the civil engineering. For giving the exam ,you need to be a graduate first. Because the eligibility criteria for giving the exam is-

You know that Diploma is not equivalent as Graduation holder.

IPS exam requires a graduation degree from a recognized university. IPS exam stands for Indian Police Service which is conducted by UPSC.

Appearing in final year candidates are also Eligible.

Without Graduation ,you can not think to join UPSC exam.

Now Age limit;-

General age limit is 21-30 years. Age relaxation is given to reserved category.

Number of attempts;-

4 times for General category, 7 times for OBC category

There is no limit for SC/ST category

Therefore Join LEET exam to complete Your graduation degree.

You cannot appear for civil service if your not following 10th,12th,degree procedure.... Or if you have done diploma after 12th then you can do any degree because diploma is not considered as degree. And then if you pass with 60% marks in your degree and your age is ok to appear then you can become a civil servant....
