to become an IAS officer it is not necessary to become a topper in your school/college and university .
and as you know that it is not necessary that always toppers are become ias officers.
if you want to become an ias officer than you have to have confidence that you can do it ,
always remember nothing is impossible ,so remember this and start preparing for the same.
if you are a hard worker and a passionate person towards your goal then there is nothing which can stop you ............

eligibility requirement:-
1.the candidate must be indian and having a graduation degree from a govt recognized university.
age required:-
* for general category:- 21-30 years.
* for obc category:- 21-33 years.
* for sc/st category:- 21-35 years.
no. of attempts allowed :-
* general category:- 4 attempts.
* obc category:- 7 attempts.
* sc/st category:- no any restriction.

ELIGIBILITY FOR IAS EXAM:-
> you should have to passed graduate from the recognized university.
> you must be an INDIAN.
> age must be 21 to 30 years.
> age relaxation for (obc 3 years , sc/st 5 years, ex-servicemen 5 years, ph 10 years).
if you have this criteria then you can apply for IAS EXAM.

Dear questioner to crack ias exam only topper in school/colleges/universities are not needed as per upsc any graduate or final year candidate from a recognized universityin any discipline can crack indian administrative service examination conducted by union public service commission twice in a year.
Before cracking you are to do registration first for that few lines for you:-
1.your age must be 21 years to 30 years,for gen,for obc,33 years,sc/st 35 years.
2.you must be the citizen of india.
3.to clear exam.gen candidate gets 4 attempts/obc 7 attempts/s/c s/t no limit.
4.you are to clear preliminary/main/personal interview with glory to get selection.

Yes, definately you can crack the Civil services examination in order to become Indian administrative services i.e IAS officer. It's not all all necessary that you must be a topper in school/ college/ university, in order to crack this question. It's true that, the level of difficulty of this examination is High but it's doesn't mean that it's impossible to crack the examination. Proper preparation and good guidance fromthe experts in this field would lead you on the path of success.
