    Hello Friend'
only graduates in any subject can write IAS exams. you can take any degree from any recognised university. better for you to do B.Com. and then only you can write IAS. If you are interested in politics, you can choose politics for your preliminary exam.

    Friend,
-WITH the experts of CA having confirmed that the Degree of Chartered Accountant is equivalent to Professional Graduation (Post Graduation), You can definitely appear the CIVIL SERVICE EXAMS conducted annually by the UPSC for enrolling the candidates into prestigious posts of IAS,IPS,etc.
-The Civil Service Exams are conducted in Three phases namely,
    *The Preliminary Exams.
    *The Mains Exams.
    *The Interviews.
-The Preliminary exams are carried out in May,while those who qualify the Preliminary, proceed to the Mains,To be carried out in October-November.
-The notifications of release of forms are available by the end of January every year.
-As per the optional subjects,I would recommend you To go for COMMERCE AND ACCOUNTANCY as your first choice.
-Having studied this well for years in your CA course, you must have good knowledge of these, which would help you do well.
-As for the 2nd Optional Subject,go for any of the Arts Subjects. The subjects including INDIAN HISTORY,PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION,GEOGRAPHY,POLITICAL SCIENCE & SOCIOLOGY are particularly scoring, and hence, have shown a higher success rate in the past when compared to the other subjects.
-The fact that these Arts Subjects form the core of the Paper-I of the Preliminary Exams, hands you with an additional advantage by saving time in preparation.
-However,the final call is yours.Choose the subjects of your interest.
