Are candidates with professional background preferred over non-professional one's in CSE (Civil Services Exam)?

I've been told in an IAS coaching institute that, SELECTORS FEEL ''PROFESSIONALS ARE BETTER ADMINISTRATORS''. IS IT SO? I had been there for counselling as what to opt after 12th..I got 92.2%CBSE(NON-MED).
So i asked if i should go with B.ARTS which would even help me with my CSE preperation alond side as the subjects & stream coincide.. OR shall i get some professional qualification like engg. or merchant navy for securing the future aspect. BUT AS THEY TOLD ME, PROFESSIONALS ARE BETTER ADMINISTRATORS.. DOES IT REALLY MAKES A DIFFERENCE AS I FEEL THAT IT'S EVEN BETTER TO STUDY/GRADUATE IN A FIELD YOU ARE GOING TO BE IN YOUR WORK IN CS, i.e.pol. sc./arts,etc. !
PLEASE COMMENT AND ALSO SUGGEST !

Re: Are candidates with professional background preferred over non-professional one's in CSE (Civil Services Exam)?

    Hello

The coaching institute are the ones who have no idea about the real concepts, about truth but they claim to be an expert of everything. When they told you that professionals have edge why did not you asked them, why is it so?they must have an logical explanation behind their facts.

What do you think that does professionals have any edge? Are they good administrator any way better than non professionals.
What is the basic idea behind some one being a expert,it is simple that he/she has studied facts or is experienced. But do you think that professionals study administration ,if they used to then might have an edge, but if not then how come they claim that they are better than non-professionals.

It is a common sense, that administration are never taught to us,we are born with it,every body have administration power,it is just that they need to pull it out.
Do we need to study Love, did any body did so in past,no but we love others, because we are born with that quality and when we are born with something no special education is required.Similarly the professionals never learn administration, they how come any body say that they are good administrators.

Your thinking is absolutely correct, the subjects that you will study in arts have great resemble to the subjects in civil service exams. In fact every subject that is included in civil service exams can be found in arts syllabus. You go with it,it is great decision.

You better decide,it is not necessary to do what others do,neither it is necessary to do what you feel like doing, but one you should do what should be done.
