UPSC conducts the Civil Services exams every year to make recruitments to 24 Services/posts.
UPSC Civil Services Exams Consists of :
1)Prelims/CSAT exams-consisting of General studies Paper 1 & Paper 2 each of 200 marks i.e.total 400 marks.
Prelims/CSAT exam is the qualifying exam to shorlist candidates for the Mains exams.The syllabus for the
this exam is same for all candidates belonging to any Stream/Discipline i.e. Arts/science/commerce/medicals/engineering etc.
2)Mains exams-It tests the real knowledge of the subjects chosen by the candidates.At this stage Two Optional Subjects
have to chosen and each subject has 2 papers.
So syllabus will change according to the subjects chosen.

Dear, all papers are common to all and it depends on you which optinal subject you have choose. Suppose, an Arts Student choose his Optional subject as Sociology and as same as a Science Student also choose his optional Subject as Sociology. Than for both student question paper will be same.
