First think why commerce... If you are good at commerce and if you think that you could write the exam well then its your wish to take commerce... But if think commerce will be tough then try to choose some other subjects..
And be thorough with English grammar, vocabulary, comprehension, as paper II and III are English compulsory...
Then prepare yourself for general aptitude also...
Check also the age limit: 21 to 30, for OC, 21-33 for MBC, 21 -35 for SC/ST...
Graduation should be obtained from any of the government approved college.... you can appear for UPSC exam in the final year of your graduation...
Candidate should be a Indian citizen...
If you are eligible and confident then go ahead...

There is no matter whatever you take the optional subjects because there is no link with the graduation so if you are graduate from any discipline then you can choose the subjects that is listed as the optional subjects in the notification according to your comfortability.
Suppose you are good in geography but that is not a subject in the graduation but you beleive that geography is good for you then you can take that as an optional subject.
So never worry for these kind of things.
Basically in thecivil services examination there are many subjects that you you can choose for the comfortability, so you must have an look on the optional subjects of the civil services examination.
There are some list of languages that you can choose as an optional subjects.
So just go for the same and bet of luck for the examination.
