Dear, Domicile Certificate is not necessary, but You have to prove your citizenship of India in this regard. If you apply for an IAS or IPS than you must be Indian. And if you migrated from other country than you have to provide Court Affidavit, but you are not eligible for IAS & IPS. Except these post you can apply for other services.

No , it is not compulsory to provide domicile certificate for UPSC exam . If you have any proof that proved your indian citizenship then domicile certificate isn't required , because for the UPSC exam the candidate must be indian citizen so that you have to prove your indian citizenship , otherwise you can't eligible for the exam .

    Dear pal,
    • Domicile certificates are referred to as residence certificate to prove that you reside in a particular country in order words it is the nativity certificate.
    • There is no need to produce a separate certificate to prove your nativity. Those certificate which you submit as a proof for other holds good and proves your nativity.
    • Certificates like birth certificate, community certificate, 10& 2 certificate , degree certificate etc act as a prove for nativity which is more than enough.
    • So there is no necessity for you to spend money in getting the Domicile certificate and spend your valuable time over there. Make sure that you produce the other certificates at the time of personnel interview.
    • As failing to produce certain certificates will lead to disqualification and there is no use in you working out the previous stages well.
