    Got failed in a subject of B.Tech 8th semester. Can I apply for UPSC exam in the year 2013 after clearing my backlog? I may get degree certificate in feb 2013.

    I wiil definitely clear the subject in Nov/Dec 2012 exam and get the certificate by the end of feb 2013.. so sir I want to know whether I can apply for upsc 2013 if i get my degree certificate by feb 2013.. please..

    Hi Aspirant,


    Yes friend after clearing 8th semester you can apply for UPSC exam in 2013.

    You can apply for Civil Service exam, Indian Engineering Service exam and Combined Defense Service exam.

    You would not get any problem from backlogs while applying for UPSC exam.

    You should only satisfy the following criteria of UPSC exam


    Eligibility

    You should be Graduate in any branh for CDS and CSE exam.

    You should have BE or B. Tech degree in order to apply for IES exam.

    Age should be 20 to 30 years for CSE and IES exam

    Age relaxation as per government norms

    SC/ST + 5 years

    OBC + 3 years

    Age should be 19 to 25 years for CDS exam

    You must be Indian.


    Attempt for CSE exam

    4 attempt for general

    7 attempt for OBC

    No limit for SC/ST

    Yes, if you clear your backlog you'll be eligible to appear for UPSC exams.

    Eligibility criteria for UPSC Examinations:-

    Nationality:- The candidate must be the citizen of India to apply for the Indian Administrative Service & Indian Police Service.

    Age Limit: - The candidate should be minimum 21 years of age and the maximum age is 30 years.

    Educational Qualification: - The candidate should have a degree completed from any of the institutes established by an Act of Parliament or any University deemed by the University Grant Commission under section 3, Act, 1956.

    Number of attempts: - Every general eligible candidate is allowed to attempt the Civil Services Examination 4 times.
    For OBC candidate�s no. of attempts is 7 times and for SC/ST infinite no. of attempts


    List of exams you can apply for after clearing backlog are:

    Central Police Forces Examination (CPF)
    Civil Services Examination
    Combined Defense Services Examination (CDS)
    Combined Engineering Services Examination (IES)
