    Dear Aspirant

Keep your spirit alive If you really like to bring change in the society hope you will do it also.Do you know why I said you that you are still in class 12 and in order to become an IPS or infact to appear for the civil service examination you have to passed your graduation that is you are thinking of dream after 4 years. Many things will happen.

Now my views and sincere advice to you to pass your 12th examintion first. Not only pass but give your best in order to get as much as you can get percentage.WOrk hard on your 12th syllabus with full spirit and enthusiam.See don't be part of rat race society that most of Indian and infact all of them they waste their earlier education thinking of bigger examintions.Due to this their base knowledge become very weak .

After you get 12th examintion well you may get admission in good colleges and even your moral boost will be high and when you systematically start your preparation for IPS you dont have to regeret on your past.It will be esteem for you when you get low moments during your preparation.Besides these after passing 12th you select that paper as graduation which is among one of the optional provided by UPSC and you have lots of interest in it.

Develop a habit of reading newspaper and be updated on current affairs. It will be of great help for you in improving English as well your communication skills.Gradually and planned steps you have to take and keeping in mind your present do not get wasted in plan of future.I mean your present academic records.Well all the best

Re: Details regarding IPS (Indian Police Service) as career. How to prepare for qualifying exam i.e., UPSC Civil Services Exam?

Details about Indian Police Service Examination : IPS is the post that is under UPSC Indian Civil Service examination means recruitment of IPS Officer is processed under ICS examination that is conducted once a year by UPSC - Union Public Service Commission

Relaxation in upper age will be provided only to reserved category candidates that will be according to government standards - 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBCs

Examination Pattern and Selection Process for IPS Officer Post :

If you take IPS as a career then I would like to say that IPS is the post which is made only to lead means IPS can be called as a leader because IPS controls and manages various forces in India that are - CAPF, CISF, BSF, ITBP, CBI, RAW, IB, CID etc. so you can imagine that how many powers and rights you will get after becoming an IPS Officer in India and you will be able to control on a huge part of the forces

Do not worry if you belongs to a middle class family because hard work does not categorize anyone so you should be free to prepare for this exam. As per your current qualification you will take more than 2 years to be eligible for IPS prelims examination but if you have not completed 12th then it may take 3 years because you can apply while pursuing final year so first you have to complete 12th class and first year of your graduation without any problem and do not let your study waste just like that because you can utilize study of class 12th in the preparation of IPS. Current Books for NCERT and CBSE board are very helpful and most of the IAS aspirants prefers these books so you should safe them and get full detailed study of all books that are mandatory at your level

After completing first year you should start caring over the syllabus of this test which is most necessary to know for a IPS aspirant and after getting syllabus, you should know that first test is preliminary which is necessary so care only for prelims and start studying for both papers of prelims according to the availability of time. Give at least 2 hours everyday for each paper means 4 hours for both papers of prelims and if you will keep your preparation continue in same way and increase time according to level then you do not need to prefer any coaching but buying some books is important and you can take help of these following books

Arihant Publication - GS and CSAT Preliminary
Disha Experts - CSAT and General Studies for IAS Preliminary Exam
    Kalinjar Publication
TATA - McGraw Hill - CSAT and General Studies Book for Civil Service Prelims exam
Ramesh Publishing House - Guide for ICS Prelims - GS and CSAT
    GK Publications

These books also provides previous years and model question papers so before using those papers, you have to revise your study of both papers more than twice then start working over model and previous years papers and know exact question and exam pattern and if you see anything new in paper so you can prepare for that particular part of the paper without leaving for a big fault and first week you should try to solve one practice test everyday and from second week of practice you must solve at least 2 model question papers.

Set the time that how long time you take in completing a paper and you have to bring your practice under 2 hour for each paper then only you will be eligible to pass prelims exam. Practice and Revision is the best weapon to win prelims exam so you have to care over these tips and get prepared finely
