yes you can pass the exam by choosing Civil Engineering as optional Subjects. In UPSC mains you have to choose two optional subject as one you can choose Civil Engineering and other you can choose from Physics and Math.
For these subjects you should need to prepare hard and if you try to solve previous year question papers of these subjects it would be very helpful for you.

we can't tell you that which exam is easy and which is tough for you because it is fully depend on you that on what level you had prepare yourself .

if you had done hard work more than others than you will stand in the merit that means it is easy for you and if opposite you did not hard work for the same than there is no any exam which you call easy for you .


so there is no any other way to make your paper easy for you except hard work

Choosing civil service as an optional subject in civil service exam may be easy for them who have completed their technical degree from civil engineering.

Because they have already good knowledge about civil engineering.

But most of the things depend upon the preparation and hard work of the candidates.

You can make any subject very easy by doing hard work, but if you don�t work hard then easy subject will be tough for you.

So work hard in the preparation of CS exam.
