The educational qualification required to apply for the IFS is

A bachelor degree with at least one of the subjects studied namely animal husbandry and veterinary science,botany,chemistry,geology,mathematics,stati cs,physics,zoology or a bachelors degree in agriculture or forestry or engineering of a recognized university.

Yes you are eligible for Indian Forest Services examination being Electrical engineer as all engineering graduates are eligible for the exam.

Here below I am providing you the educational qualification required for IFS exam:-

Educational Qualifications:-

The candidate must hold a Bachelor�s degree with at least one of the following subjects:

Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology, Agriculture, Forestry, Agriculture Engineering,or any other Engineering.

Even If you are in the final year you are eligible for the exam.

Your nationality must be Indian.

Number of attempts are restricted:-

● General candidates: four attempts.

● Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates: No restriction.

● Other Backward Classes: seven attempts.

UPPER AGE LIMIT RESTRICTION:-

General- 21 to 30 yrs
SC/ST- 21 to 35 yrs
OBC- 21 to 33yrs
Physically handicapped- 21 to 40 yrs

To become IFS officer you give civil services examination. For that examination you must be graduate from any recognized university.

It does not matter that in which field you are completing your graduation.

For civil services examination no need of percentage , if you just have passing marks in your graduation then you are eligible.

Age must be under 21-30 years.

3 years age relaxation for BC candidate and 5 years age relaxation for SC/ST candidate.

And as you are with the B.TECH qualification you no need to Worry at all


You must have a minimum of " 21 " years


Maximum age is allowed up to " 30 " years

FOR SC / ST :: 5 YEARS ...


There is no age relaxation for the RESERVED CANDIDATES ...
