The Prelims paper now consists of two papers.
Paper I : Current Events, Histroy , Geography , Indian Polity and Governance, Economic and Social Development, General Issues on Environmental Ecology and Bio-Diversity and Climate change.
Paper II : Comprehension, Interpersonal Skills, Logical reasoning and analytical abilty, Decision-making and Problem solving, General mental ability, Basic numeracy.

The UPSC's preliminary examination has two papers. The first one is General Study and the second one is English and comprehension test. Each paper has the 200 marks each. There is no specific syllabus in these papers. Still it can be said that generally in General Study paper, you can find the questions related to History, pol. science, Economics, Geography and Genera Science etc.. Similarly in the Second paper, you can find the questions related to English comprehension, Logical reasoning, Decision making problems and General mental ability, Basic numeracy etc.. there is a common exam for various govt posts like :- ias/ips /indian foreign services...............
named 'civil services examination'.
eligibility criteria:-
1. the candidate must be an indian citizen.
2. the candidate must be a graduate with an ugc recognized university.
age criteria:-
1. for general= 21-30 y
2. for obc = 21-33 y
3. for sc/st= 21-35 y
procedure:-

3. interview (vocal.)
but there is a limit of attempts :
no. of attempts:-
* for general=4 attempts.

since UPSC conducts many examinations and UPSC is not name of any examination.
If you mean Civil services then tehre will be two papers and you need to have good command over G.K and current afffiars .

- Candidate must have completed graduation or engineering from a recognized university .
