The changed Civil Service Exam have separated the syllabus of Prelims and Mains.


The Prelims paper now consists of two papers.


Paper I : Current Events, Histroy , Geography , Indian Polity and Governance, Economic and Social Development, General Issues on Environmental Ecology and Bio-Diversity and Climate change.


Paper II : Comprehension, Interpersonal Skills, Logical reasoning and analytical abilty, Decision-making and Problem solving, General mental ability, Basic numeracy.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

for UPSC exams you must complete or appearing in final year of graduation from recognized college or university.

your age must be within 21 years to 30 years.

And there is relaxation in UPPER AGE limit for reserved category candidates(3 years for OBC and 5 years for SC/ST candidates).

UPSC:- Union Public Service Commission this examination is conducted by there stage. First stage is Preliminary Exam.

Preliminary Exam:- This one of the Entry level exam this exam have a two papers each paper have 200 marks and each paper have a two hours duration.




If you clear this examination then you go for Main Examination.

so civil service exam is one of them

=age=minimum required age is 21 and maximum is 28 years

=qualification=the candidate should have completed degree from the recognized university

=the candidate is allowed to attempt the civil service exam 4 times

The UPSC's preliminary examination has two papers. The first one is General Study and the second one is English and comprehension test. Each paper has the 200 marks each. There is no specific syllabus in these papers. Still it can be said that generally in General Study paper, you can find the questions related to History, pol. science, Economics, Geography and Genera Science etc.. Similarly in the Second paper, you can find the questions related to English comprehension, Logical reasoning, Decision making problems and General mental ability, Basic numeracy etc.. first i clear your all doubt ,that there is no any separate exam for ips .

there is a common exam for various govt posts like :- ias/ips /indian foreign services...............

named 'civil services examination'.

eligibility criteria:-

1. the candidate must be an indian citizen.
2. the candidate must be a graduate with an ugc recognized university.

age criteria:-

1. for general= 21-30 y
2. for obc = 21-33 y
3. for sc/st= 21-35 y


procedure:-

1. prelims (objective.)
2. mains(descriptive.)
3. interview (vocal.)


but there is a limit of attempts :

no. of attempts:-

* for general=4 attempts.
* for obc= 7 attempts.

since UPSC conducts many examinations and UPSC is not name of any examination.

If you mean Civil services then tehre will be two papers and you need to have good command over G.K and current afffiars .

1. Candidate must have completed graduation or engineering from a recognized university .
2. candidates who appearing in final year of graduation or engineering can also apply for the upsc exams.
3. age limit for the upsc exams is 21 to 30 years.
4. age relaxation of 3 years is given to those candidates who belongs to OBC category .
5. age relaxation of 5 years is given to those candidates who belongs to sc category.
