1) Preliminary Exam
2) MAINS Exam

Examination Pattern for UPSC Civil Service examination
Preliminary examination : There will be two different papers in this section in objective type mode and you will have to qualify this exam then only you will be allowed to appear for mains examination and each paper contains 200 marks
Mains examination : There will be following 7 papers in this mains examination and qualifying in each paper is compulsory
Paper I - Essay - 200 marks and English Comprehension - 100 marks
Paper II - General Studies - 250 marks
Paper III - General Studies - 250 marks
Paper IV - General Studies - 250 marks
Paper V - General Studies - 250 marks
Paper VI - Any one optional subject - 250 marks
Paper VII - Any one optional subject - 250 marks
