CSAT stands for Civil Services Aptitude Test. Starting from 2011, CSAT will select candidates who can appear for Civil Services (Mains) Exam.
CSAT 2012 will be held on May 20, 2012.
The Notificaion for CSAT will be carried my all major newspapers of India on February 4, 2012.
Last date to apply is March 5, 2012
The CSAT has two compulsory Papers of 200 marks each and of two hours duration each. All questions are of objective type.
Paper I - (200 marks) Duration: Two hours
- Current events of national and international importance
- History of India and Indian National Movement
- Indian and World Geography - Physical, Social, Economic geography of India and the World.
- Indian Polity and Governance � Constitution, Political System, Panchayati Raj, Public Policy, Rights Issues, etc.
- Economic and Social Development � Sustainable Development, Poverty, Inclusion, Demographics, Social Sector Initiatives, etc.
- General issues on Environmental ecology, Bio-diversity and Climate Change - that do not require subject specialization
- General Science.
Paper II- (200 marks) Duration: Two hours
- Comprehension
- Interpersonal skills including communication skills
- Logical reasoning and analytical ability
- Decision making and problem solving
- General mental ability
- Basic numeracy (numbers and their relations, orders of magnitude etc.) (Class X level), Data interpretation (charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency etc. -Class X level)
- English Language Comprehension skills (Class X level).

Dear Candidate,
-The Civil Service Exams are conducted by the UPSC.The notifications of the release of application forms are released by January end.
-The forms are available to be filled in February,both Online and Offline.These lasts till first week of March.
-The exams are conducted in two phases:
# Preliminary Exams which are conducted in May.
# Mains Exams which are conducted in October-November.Only candidates who pass the Preliminary exams appear the Mains.This is followed by the Interviews.
Eligibility Criteria For Civil Service Exams:
-You must be a citizen of India,
or,You must be a subject of Nepal or Bhutan,
or,You must be a Tibetan refugee settled permanently in India before 1962.
-You must be of 21-30 years of age.
The upper age limit is relaxable by 5yrs for SC/STs and upto 3 yrs for the OBCs.
-You must hold a degree of Graduation or Equivalent from an UGC Recognized University,or be a final year student in the same.
-Only 4 attempts are permitted to General Candidates.It is raised to 7 for OBCs and is not limited for the SC/STs.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:-
-- You must be an Indian citizen.
-- You must be physically fit for applying in the examination.
-- Your age should not be less than 21 years & not exceed 30 years.
-- But for SC,ST, O.B.C. category upper age limit relaxation is available.
-- For SC/ST- 5 years of age relaxation. i.e. age limit 21-35 years
-- For O.B.C- 3 years of age relaxation. i.e. age limit 21-33 years
-- You must have completed your graduation from recognized university.
-- Candidates passed their graduation from Technical/Professional courses are also eligible to apply.
-- Final year candidates can also apply.
-- Only passing mark is enough to appear the exam.
-- For open category candidates 4 attempts, for O.B.C 7 attempts & unlimited attempts for SC/ST candidates are available.

And exam in the month of either may or in june
Their is three stages in the exam :
First: Pre Exam
Second: Mains Exam
