Indian Forest Service (IFS) is a competitive examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission.
This examination is meant for recruiting officers to the Indian Forest service.
PATTERN OF EXAMINATION:-
The exam includes both objective and descriptive type questions.
English, Technical questions and General Awareness questions are mainly included in this examination.
In addition to this, candidates should select two optional subjects also.
Optional subjects include Forestry, Agriculture, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Agricultural, Mechanical and Civil Engineering, Animal Husbandry &Veterinary Science. Each paper is divided into two sections. The time duration for each paper is three hours.
ELIGIBILITY:-
--Any graduation from a recognized institution can apply.
--Selection will be based on the marks scored in the examination followed an Interview or Personality Test.
--After that the UPSC will verify the original documents of the candidates.
How to apply:-
Candidates can apply for the IFS examination in both online and offline mode.
Online application can be downloaded from the website: www.upsconline.nic.in .

The cutoff mark varies from state to state.
To get into the Indian Forest Service one have to score a minimum of 80-90% marks.

to become an ifs officer you should apply to upsc. upsc releases notification in the month of february.exam is held in the month of july. one must have B.Sc degree,BTECH DEGREE. EXAM IS OF subjective nature

Eligibility criteria for IFS:
Age limit is 21-30 years.
candidates belonging to OBC and SC/ST category gets age relaxation of 3 years and 5 years respectively.
Candidates should fulfill the adequate physical standards.
Bachelor�s degree from any recognized university with atleast one of the subjects namely Animal Husbandry and veterinary Science, Botony, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology, Agriculture, Forestry or Engineering is required for applying in the entrance examination.
General candidates only 4 attempts are permissible.
SC/ST candidates there is no limits in number of attempts.
O.B.C candidates there Only 7 attempts are permissible.

to become eligible for upsc ifs exam
you need to be a graduate form a recognized university with any stream having Animal Husbandry and veterinary Science, Botony, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology, Agriculture, Forestry or Engineering as on e of the subject.secondly your age should lie between 21-30 years . sc/st and obc aspirants will get age relaxation of 3 and 5 years .

Well dear to become an ifs(indian forest service)officer you have to give indian forest service exam.ifs exam is conducted every year by upsc for the recruitment of candidates in indian forest service.

IFS stands for the Indian Forest services.For entrance into this service ,an entrance examination is conducted by the UPSC every year.
First of all I would like to tell you the eligibility criteria for the IFS :
>>Bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university with having any one of the following compulsory subjects such as animal husbandary,vetrinary science,applied mathematics,statististics,geology,physics,agricult ure,botany etc.
