Re: How can I apply for railway exams through UPSC after B.Sc (CS)?

    Hi Dear

Indian Railways mainly recruit through two Exams of UPSC and via Railway Recruitment Board's (RRB) Exams.

    Those two UPSC Exams are:
    1. Engineering Services Exam
    2. Special Class Railway Apprentice Exam.

The eligibility criteria for these exams is as follows:

    #Engineering Services Examination

    Nationality: Indian
Academic eligibility condition: A degree in Engineering from a recognised University or eqivalent. M.Sc Degree or its equivalent with Wireless Communications, Electronics, Radio Physics or Radio Engineering as special subject acceptable for certain Services/posts only.
    Age limit: 21-30 years

    #Special Class Railway Apprentices Exam

    Nationality: Indian
Academic eligibility condition: Intermediate or Senior Secondary (12 years) Examination under 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent with Mathematics and at least one of the subjects Physics & Cheministry as subjects of the Examination in 1st or 2nd Division.
    Age limit: 17-21 years

So going through the above eligibility criteria: You are not eligible for Engineering Services Exam but you can apply for the SCRA Exam if you satisfy the age limit.

I will suggest you to look out for the Exams conducted by RRB as they recruit for Railways only and you will have more opportunities through those Exams (on the basis of your B.Sc. Degree).

    Good luck......
