ELIGIBILITY:-

1) Candidate must have completed engineering degree from a recognized university.
2) Final year Engineering candidate can also apply for the exam.
3) Candidates with MSc. Degree or equivalent in Wireless Communications, Electronics, Radio Physics or Radio Engineering are also eligible for certain posts only.
4) Candidate must have completed engineering with one of the following streams.

--Electrical engineering.
--Civil engineering.
--Mechanical engineering.
--Electronics & Communications Engineering.

5) Age should be between 21-30 years
6) Candidate must be physically & medically fit.
7) Candidate must be Indian citizen.

As you are from automobile engineering, you can apply for IES exam.
But To apply for the exam you have to choose any one stream from the above streams.
You can not apply for this exam with your own stream.
You have to choose either mechanical or electrical or electronics or civil engineering papers to apply for this exam.

Sorry but AUTOMOBILE ENGINEERS are not eligible to apply for the IES Exams conducted by the UPSC.

IES exams means Engineering Services Examinations is the exam conducted by UPSC in four categories.

The categories are as follows:

Category I�Civil Engineering.
Category II�Mechanical Engineering.
Category III�Electrical Engineering.
Category IV�Electronics & Telecommunication
Engineering

If you have B.Tech. Degree in these Categories then you have preference in UPSC exams.

candidate with B.E/B.Tech in CIVIL/MECH/ELECTRICAL/ELECTRONICS & TELECOMMUNICATIONS only can apply.

so u cant apply for IES but u can apply for other exams of UPSC like CIVIL SERVICES EXAM etc.,

Eligibility Criteria:

1. Engineering degree in any stream from recognized college or university.
2. your age must be within 21 years to 30 years. and there is relaxation in upper age limit: 3years for OBC and 5 years for Sc/ST.

IES:-Indian Engineering Service

Sorry friend your not eligible for the IES exam and this exam is conducted by Union public service Commission and this examination is conducted by every year.

Eligible To apply for the IES Exam:-
