    Basically according to my knowledge there is only one way to becomr an IAS, which is through UPSC examinations.

    There is only one way to join apply for IAS.It is known as civil services exams.
    The exam is conducted by UPSC(Union Public Service Commission),once in a year.
    The qualification required is graduation from any stream.Age limit is 21 to 30 years for general candidate.

    There are three stages of selection
    1)Preliminary Exam.
    2)Mains Exam.
    3)Interview.

    A old notification of civil services is being uploaded,you just read the notification,it will clear all your doubts.

    There is Only One Way to Become an IAS Officer and It is After Clearing UPSC exam.

    >> If you clear UPSC Exam then you can become IAS Officer.

    >> There are Three Steps in Civil Service/UPSC Exam:

    1) Prelims Exam

    2) Mains Exam

    3) Personal Interview

    >> Procedure of Examination:

    >> First Notification of Exam is Released

    >> Candidate fill form for Preferred Post.

    >> Than Date of Prelim Exam is Released.

    >> Prelim Exam is Conducted after 1 and Half month

    >> After Prelims Exams Result is declare and candidate who have cleared Prelims will fill form for mains Exam and Select Subject

    >> Main Exam is conducted and after 1 and Half month Result is Declared.

    >> The Candidate who have cleared Mains exam will face Personal Interview.

    >> After Personal Interview, Name of Candidate is Declared and Appointed for Appropriate

    IAS stands for the Indian Administrative services.This is the most respectable services in bureaucracy and have large power in case of administration.

    The one and only one way to become an IAS officer is to crack all the three stages of the Civil services examinations which is as below:

    1.Civil services aptitude test

    2.Main examination

    3.Personal interview.


    The essential qualification required for the Civil services examinations are :

    >>Bachelor's degree in any stream from a recognized university.Final year candidates can also apply for the exam.

    >>The age limit is 21-30 years and three years age relaxation to obc and five years age relaxation to sc/st respectively.

    >>You must be an Indian citizen.

    After bachelor's degree ,you need to apply for the Civil services examination at the www.upsconline.nic.in.

    The important dates for applying online is already over ,so you have to wait for the next year to apply for the exam till then you can do preparation by joining some good institutes like :

    There is only one way to become IAS exam that is applying IAS exam.

    IAS exam stands for Indian police service which is conducted by UPSC.

    Eligibility for IAS exam;-

    Education Quantification;-

    ----You must be passed a graduate degree from a recognized university.

    ----There is no percentage requirement.

    ----Appearing in final year are also eligible.

    Age limits;-

    General category age limit is 21-30 years.

    Age relaxation;-

    3 years for OBC candidates

    5 years age relaxation for SC/ST candidates

    Number of attempts;-

    General-4 times

    OBC-7 times

    SC/ST-no limit

    IAS exam consist;-

    Preliminary exam

    Mains exam

    Civil Services Examination is conducted by UPSC every year for the recruitment of candidates for the post of IAS officer. UPSC doesn't take the marks or work experience into consideration.

    The eligibility criteria Civil Services Examination are as follows:

    Educational Qualification


    The candidate must hold any degree in any discipline from any recognized university

    Final year degree students are also eligible

    Degree obtained by distance education/open university is also eligible if the university is a recognized university


    Age limit

    General 21-30 yrs
    SC/ST 21-35 yrs
    PH 21-40 yrs

    Number of attempts permitted

    General 4
    OBC 7
    PH 7
    SC/ST No Limit

    Nationality should be Indian.

    Selection Process:

    ~~ Written Test
    ~~ Prelims
    ~~ mains
    ~~ Interview.

    there is only one wa to become an IAS officer which is u have to prepare for IAS preexam and then u wll appear for main exam but there are the many subjects which u can choose as u want like in chemistry,physics,history,geology etc. But u have to choose two subjects for main pre will be same for all.

    Dear there are following two ways to become an IAS Officer in India

    1. Direct Recruitment Process which is through civil service examination which conducts every year by UPSC board in two sections as - Preliminary and Mains examination then Interview Process

    If you wish to apply for this examination then you should have passed a bachelor's degree examination in any discipline from a recognized university and age should be between 21-30 years and relaxations in upper age as per government guidelines which are 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC category candidates

    >> Preliminary examination : Objective type 2 papers and 200 marks for each and qualifying in this test is compulsory to be eligible for mains examination

    >> Mains examination : Descriptive type 7 papers which are following as

    1. Paper I - Essay - 200 marks and English Comprehension 100 marks

    2. General Studies - I - 250 marks

    3. General Studies - II - 250 marks

    4. General Studies - III - 250 marks

    5. General Studies - IV - 250 marks

    6. Any one optional subject - 250 marks

    7. Any one optional subject - 250 marks

    List of optional subjects from which you can choose any two for mains examination

    >> Agriculture
    >> Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science

    Qualifying in each paper of mains exam is compulsory to get the call for interview process and if you qualify interview process also then you will get selected for the post of IAS Officer in India and before that you will get the training of 2 years then you will be posted to work somewhere in India

    Second way to become an IAS Officer in India through promotion :

    UPSC board provides promotion to those officers who gets selected through state service examination and gets various posts as Deputy Collector etc. and if they work good and fine then UPSC board gives them promotion directly to IAS Officer post but it takes a long time to get promoted and it is not easy to receive promotion from UPSC board but this is the second way to become an IAS Officer

    To become an ias officer you need to have the eligibility :

    *Have done your graduation from recognized university in any stream.
    *Age limit 21-30 yrs..

    Then you can apply for it and you need to prepare lot for it.
    The exam is taken in 3 phases;

    1.Prelims and those clear it go for next,
    2.Mains and one who clear it go for interview..
