Since you have completed your gradyation so you are eligible to sit in the UPSC civil services prelims exam for the year 2013.
max age to aply is 30 years and min age is 21 years
exams is held in three stages
prelims
mains
interview
now next prelims is in may 2013 so you have approx 9 months to prepare for the next prelims exams
if you have time and money than you can join IAS coaching centre in your city
For Prelims
there are two appers
Paper 1- general studies of 200 marks
paper 2- contains english, maths, general mental ability etc of 200 marks
buy books of general studies in the market and start preparing from it
also read one national daily and one finalcial paper daily
devote 8-100 hours daily for pre;ims exams

you can apply for UPSC exams while appearing in final year or after completing B.Com.
Tips For Preparation:
1. Manage your time table.
2. Start preparation according to UPSC syllabus.
3. study 6th to 12th NCERT books.
4. improve GK and English.
5. Keep reading News papers and magazines daily.
6. Solving previous year papers is the most requisite part of preparation.

IT IS THE RIGHT TIME TO START PREPARE YOURSELF FOR THE CIVIL SERVICES EXAMINATION.
HARE ARE SOME TIPS FOR YOU TO GET SELECTED IN THE EXAM IN FIRST ATTEMPT.
1. you should keep your basics clear.
2. read general knowledge books in your leisure.
3. read newspapers like the hindu , the times of India,etc...
4. you should also read some magazines to update yourself like cronicals, pratiyogita darpan .
5. when ever and whatever you read read it perfectly and make short not for quick view before exam.
6. don't be the book spider because other knowledge is also must.
these are the basics to clear the exam in first attempts.
