after devoting 12 hours for your office if you want to prepare for ias examination then in my opinion you should either drop the thought of preparation or you should drop your job because if you want to crack ias exam with a preparation of 1 or 2 years then you must atleast give 8 hours to ias preparation.
    all the best
    happy learning!!!

    hi

friend you need to work hard..you are getting less time i.e time for preparing so first priority maintain a proper time table and go as per the prepared time table.

    the syllabus for exam=

    concentrate on civics,
    geography,
    history,
    sociology ,
    general science,
basic maths problems (10th level) and english language comprehension skills(10th level).,
    english verbal and comprehension
    ,biodiversity,
    general knowledge
    environment studies

NEVER THINK OF POSTPONING OF THE SCHEDULED TIME TABLE.

avoid mugging, try to learn and understand the concept.

**generally morning time i.e 3-6am ,OUR MIND is fresh,so whatever you focus it will save in your mind.why do not you take morning time for preparation with fresh mind

    -for prepared portion,do revision

    -Liston news

**ONE MORE THING TIME MANAGEMENT IS IMPORTANT.IT WOULD BE USEFULL DURING EXAM,SO TO COME OUT WITH IT,CONDUCT SELF TEST WITH THE EXAM TIME HOURS BY SOLVING OLD MODEL PAPERS

-DISCUSSION IS ALSO USEFULL TO REMEMBER THE CONCEPTS.SO DISCUSS WITH YOUR FRIENDS OR PEOPLE AROUND YOU ON CIVIC ,CONSTITUTION,HISTORY.

OUTPUT WILL BE FRUITFULL ONLY IF YOU GIVE YOUR 100% INPUT WITH DEDICATION.RIGHT

    good luck

    thank you

    Dear Aspirant

It will be really difficulty for you to prepare for civil service examination.Don't be disheartened.Proper planning and executing them efficiently will ensure success.Prepare for General studies and aptitude during weekdays and give weekend time for optional paper. You may read newspaper in office and monthly magazine The Hindu in office.First give your time in such away that you may complete syllabus of preliminary examination first besides that if possible try to shift your home as close to your office so that you require less time for travel.

    All the best

Friend, there is will where is a way. Nothing is impossible in the world. You can even crack the Civil Service Examination. If your financial condition is sound and if it is affordable to you to quite the job. Then you must quit the job. In this way, you will get lot of time available for the preparation of IAS Examination. If your financial conditions are not sound and you are not in a position to quit the job. Then you have to plan your preparation very systematically through proper & judicious time management. You have to make a special study on Saturday and Sunday necessarily. As you will have only these two days available in a week for you. In these two days, you should utilise these two days more efficiently and judiciously. You should devote one or two hours of study daily for self study both in evening and morning. You may carry any magazine like Pratiyogita Darpan alongwith you. You can study it while travelling to office or from office to home in a bus/train/rickshaw etc.
