    IFS (Indian Forest Service) exam notification, Eligibility criteria and Mode of examination?

    Sir,
    I'm Kishor Kumar Sama from Hyderabad. Kindly let me know how to apply for the Indian Forest Services (IFS) examination. I'm presently Final Year student. My Course will be finished on 15th June, 2012. Am I eligible for the examination? It is mentioned in the upsc.gov.in website that the notification for IFS will be on 31st March, 2012. But, I couldn't find it any where. Where can I buy the applications in Hyderabad?

    for IFS exam one should have 21 years age, minimum qualification is graduate with animal husbandry, botany,zoology etc and you can give this exam 4 times.and you can apply online also and forms are available in every book shop in hyderabad.

    Name of Civil Services : IFS (Indian Foreign Service)
    Exam Date : Prelim in 1st week of May & Mains in 2nd week of Oct
    Eligibility Criteria :
    1.Age limit
    21 years must be completed on 1st August of the year, which a candidate is appearing. Maximum 30 for general category, 33 for OBCs and 35 for SCs/STs . Ex-servicemen will get 5 more years exemption from the prescribed age limit The date of birth accepted by the Commission is that entered in the Matriculation or Secondary School Leaving Certificate or in a certificate recognized by an Indian University as equivalent to Matriculation or in an extract from a Register of Matriculates maintained by a University, which extract must be certified by the proper authority of the University or in the Higher Secondary or an equivalent examination certificate.
    2.Number of Attempts
    Four attempts for open, seven for OBCs and no limit for SCs/STs. If a person appears in the Preliminary Examination or even one paper is counted as an attempt.
    3.Restrictions on applying for the examination:
    A candidate who is appointed to the Indian Administrative Service or the Indian Foreign Service on the results of an earlier examination and continues to be a member of that service will not be eligible to compete at this examination.
    Exam Pattern :
    All India Combined Competitive Examination for the Civil Services conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) comprises of two successive stages:
    • Preliminary Examination: It is of objective type, which is a qualifying examination.
    • Main Examination: It consists of written examination and interview.
    The Preliminary Examination is held in May/June and the Main Examination in October/November. One must begin preparations of the main exam along with preliminary exam. This is because there is little time for the Main exam if one waits for the results of the Preliminaries.

    Date of Notification : 31st march, 2012
    Last Date for Receipt of Applications either by hand or by Post/Speed Post or by Courier : 30th April, 2012
    Date of Examination : 14th July, 2012


    Age Limits : The candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years on the 1st July, 2012 i.e. he must have been born not earlier than 2nd July, 1982 and not later than 1st July, 1992. The Upper age limit is relaxable for candidates belonging to scheduled castes/scheduled tribes/ other backward classes and certain other categories.

    Educational Qualification:

    A Bachelor's degree with atleast one of the subjects namely Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology or a degree in Agriculture or Forestry or Engineering of a recognised University or equivalent.

    Candidates who are studying in final year Degree Course and have yet to pass final year degree examination or equivalent examination can also apply for examination, but they will be required to submit proof of passing by the specified dates published in Commission's Notice for Examination.

    Duration of Examination : 10 Days

    Physical Standards :

    Candidates must be physically fit according to physical standards for admission to Indian Forest Service Examination, 2012 as per Regulations.

    Agartala, Ahmedabad, Aizawl, Allahabad, Bangalore, Bareilly, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Chennai, Cuttack, Dehradun, Delhi, Dharwar, Dispur, Gangtok, Hyderabad, Imphal, Itanagar, Jaipur, Jammu, Jorhat, Kochi, Kohima, Kolkata, Lucknow, Madurai, Mumbai, Nagpur, Panaji (Goa), Patna, Port Blair, Raipur, Ranchi, Sambalpur, Shillong, Shimla, Srinagar, Thiruvananthapuram, Tirupati, Udaipur, Vishakhapatnam

    The centres and the date of holding the examination as mentioned above are liable to be changed at the discretion of the commission

    How to Apply :

    The application form along with an Information Brochure containing general instructions for filling up the form, an acknowledgement card and an envelope for sending the application will be obtainable from the designated Head Post Offices/Post Offices throughout the country against cash payment of Rs. 20/- (Rupees twenty only). Form should be purchased from the designated Head Post Offices/ Post Offices only and not from any other agency. This form can be used only once and for only one examination.

    Hello,
    The last date of fill up the form of Indian Forest Service is 30/04/2012 Monday. You can apply online in Indian Forest Service exam.

    The eligibility criteria for this exam is 1>. age limit of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years on 1st July, 2012, i.e. he must have been born not earlier than 2nd July, 1980 and not later than 1st July, 1990.

    2>. The candidate must hold a Bachelor�s degree with at least one of the subjects namely Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor�s degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Engineering of any of Universities

    The eligibility criteria for IFS Exam:
    you should be indian.
    you should have attained 21 years of age and must not have attained the age of 30 years on 1st July, 2012.
    you should have a graduation degree with 60%.

    you can apply for the exam, but at the further process, you need to be ready with your certificates.
    The notification for IFS 2012 is still not at released.
    The applications can be filled through online.

    Important Dates of IFS Exam

    Exam commencing on July 1st or 2nd week, 2012

    ELIGIBILITY:-

    Before appearing for IFS Exam, candidates should ensure that they are eligible for the IFS examination.
    --Any graduation from a recognized institution is needed.

    IFS exam notification is released in month of february.exam is conducted in july. for this you must be a graduate from a recognized university.exam is of subjective nature.1.English 2.GENERAL KNOWLEDGE 3.OPTIONALSUBJECT1 4.OPTIONAL SUBJECT2.EACH OPTIONAL SUBJECT HAS TWO PAPERS. AFTER CLEARING THESE papers one has to go for interview.

    IFS(Indian forest service) is conducted by UPSC every year for the recruitment of government jobs.

    ELIGIBILITY:

    candidates must have a bachelors degree with at least one of the subjects
    animal husbandry and veterinary science
    Botany
    Zoology
    Geology
    Chemistry
    Mathematics
    Physics
    Statistics
    or

    A bachelors degree in Agriculture or forestry or Engineering from a recognized university or equivalent.
    Candidates who are in final year can also able ti apply in this examination.

    IFS i.e. Indian Forest Service & IFS exam is conducted by UPSC once in a year generally in the July month for recruitment of candidate in Indian Forest Services.

    DEAR ASPIRANT,
    Eligibility criteria for IFS:
    1.Age limit is 21-30 years.
    2.OBC and SC/ST category gets age relaxation of 3 years and 5 years respectively.
    3.Candidates should fulfill the adequate physical standards.
    4.GRADUATION from a recognized university with atleast one of the subjects namely:
    Animal Husbandry and veterinary Science, Botony, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology, Agriculture, Forestry or Engineering

    General candidates only 4 attempts are permissible.
    SC/ST candidates there is no limits in number of attempts.
    O.B.C candidates there Only 7 attempts are permissible.

    How to apply for IFS :
    Candidates can apply for the IFS examination conducted by UPSC both online and offline mode.
    1.In offline mode, candidates can purchase forms from a nearby designated Post Offices by a cash payment of Rs. 30/-.
