    hello friend,

    procedure for civil services examination:

    1.prelims examination (objective type).

    2. mains examination ( descriptive type)

    3. interview (vocal)

you have to choose two optional subjects as your main subjects in mains examination.

I advise you to take your graduation subjects as your main subjects in mains.

but if you want to take other subjects than you are allowed to do so. you have many subject choices.

see the attachment to see the list of subjects in mains examination.
