Dear, you are a student of Humanities, but unfortunetly this subject is not included in the list of optinal subjects as prescribed by the UPSC. So. its better to go those subjects which are related to this subject or for those subjects you have selected in your 10+2 or Graduation level.
I would like to suggest you following subjects which may suit you:-
(1) History
(2) Political Science and Internaltional Relations
(3) sociology
(4) Public Administration
I would suggest (1) Sociology
(2) Public Administration
as optional papers for the CSE(Mains) since you have mentioned yourself to be a humanities student. But dont limit your choices. Go through all the optional papers and their syllabus then decide what you feel to be right. Do refer http://www.civilserviceindia.com/ for syllabus, previous year question papers, prescribed books, etc...

Hence,in the past, there have been seen a higher success rate when compared to the other subjects.
-Also,it are these subjects which form the core of the Paper-I in the Preliminary Exams.
