Following combinations of subjects are not allowed Civil services exam:�

(a) Political Science & International Relations and Public Administration;
(b) Commerce & Accountancy and Management;
(c) Anthropology and Sociology;
(d) Mathematics and Statistics;
(e) Agriculture and Animal Husbandry &Veterinary Science.
(f) Management and Public Administration;
(g) Of the Engineering subjects, viz., Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering�not more than one subject.
(h) Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science and Medical Science.

Dear Candidate,
The subject combinations which are not allowed for the UPSC Civil Service Mains are given below :
-Political Science & International
relations and Pubilc
Administration
-Commerce & Accountancy and
Management
-Anthropopgy and Sociology
-Mathematics and Statistics
-Agriculture and Animal Husbandry
& Veterinary Science
-Management and Public Administration
-Any two branches of engineering
-Animal Husbandry & Veterinary
Science.

As these combinations cover almost the similar type of study,they aren't permitted.

according to the rules the candidate are not allowed to choose the following combination of the subjects.

1. political and international relation and public administration
2. commerce & accounting and management
3. anthropology and sociology
4. mathematics and statistics
5. agriculture and animal husbandry & veterinary science
6. management and public administration
7. civil engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering - not more than one subject.
8. animal husbandry & va ternary sciences and medical science.

beside these combination a candidate can choose any one.
