hi,
If you have confidence on yourself then you can choose maths as optional Subject.
>> If you know about maths subject of 6-10 standard then you can choose maths as optional subject.
>> You can also get good score from maths subject.
>> if your goal is fixed then you can pass easily.
All the Best
It may be a tough subject but it depends on you i.e if you have good command over the subject then you can easily score good marks in it as maths is also good scoring subject.
And you should choose the optional in a way that you are able to score good in it..
Yes friend, Mathematics is good optional subject.
You can score will in the math subject as optional subject. Friend you should choose the subject in which you are interested and have good knowledge. So friend choose only those subject in which you are most interested . So friend you must choose the subject of your interest.
hi,
i think you are not very good in maths but actually it is not an hard subject also .
>> in maths you can bring full then other language ..
>> so just little more try will make you confident for maths .
>> just try your best .
all the best
hi
when we choose optional subject when we have atleast little grip on that subject right.right
so if you have maths background then it is well good for you to opt for mathematics.
in addition to it,you know the subject syllabus i.e covered from inter ,degree then it will make work quite easy.
mathematics is such a subject untill and unless you never practice or put in on paper ,it would be difficult to answer the question
moreover formulas and theorem is also very important for maths
try to solve as many problems as you can
agreed..
good luck
thank you

If you are willing to choose Mathematics as your one optional subject then you can choose but before choosing this subject, you should decide that you have enough and in depth knowledge about mathematics and you can handle any type of problem in mathematics then you should choose otherwise so many are there who completes masters degree with mathematics but does not choose maths as one optional subject but you should not worry and believe in yourself and if you think that you can do well with mathematics then you may easily choose and get qualified
All the best
Mathematics is scoring subject, no doubt about this; but its there when you are confident about your practice on it. Otherwise Maths is a subject of harm also if you make small mistake in any calculations as well. So its upto you how you tackle it and go through it properly. Mathematics will be useful even after getting selection in UPSC, while you are on Job as well.
Hi,
Mathematics is easy and scoring subject. So don't think about it is an optional subject. But maths is helpful even after getting selection in UPSC.If you will work hard and keep practice then mathematics will be an easy.
thank you
Friend generally mathematics is considered as tough subject and obviously it is the tough subject for the UPSC civil Service exam.
Still you can choose this subject for the optional subject in mains exam if you have great interest in this subject and you can perform well then any other subject.
Friend selection of the subject is the matter of interest and knowledge.
If you keep good knowledge and interest in math then you can choose it for the mains exam otherwise not.
You should choose the optional subject very carefully because the success is depends mostly on the optional subjects.
Because optional subjects has 1200 marks and 4 paper.
So friend first check your interest and knowledge and then choose the subject.
Choose subjects which have availability of books, reading material and guidance. If you are comfortable with Mathematics, then only you should select the subject as an optional. But the choice should not only be as per your interests but also be based on the study material available.
The following are some combinations that the UPSC does not allow:
Political Science & International Relations and Public Administration
Commerce and Management
Anthropology and Sociology
Maths and Statistics
Agriculture and Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science
Management and Public Administration
Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science and Medical Science
Any two branches of engineering.
Combination of two literatures
Thanks..

Hi friends,

Friend, I don't think so. As far as I think no any subject is neither tough nor easy. It totally depends upon the mentality of the candidate. If you have good command, sound knowledge of elementary concepts and have keen interest, then that subject will become much easier for you. If you have full confidence and sound knowledge of mathematics subject, then there is no any harm. You can surely get good marks in the civil service examination by your hard work.
dear aspirant,
no dear it is not like that. i believe that there is no subject which is tough. If you are well prepared for the exam then it seems you easy else it seems you tough. So don't care of such a things and motivate your self for preparation.
