Eligibility for UPSC Combined Defense Service Examination

IMA - Indian Military Academy - Candidate must have passed bachelor's degree examination from a recognized university and final year pursuing are also eligible and age should be between 19-24 years

INA - Indian Naval Academy - Candidate should have passed bachelor's degree in Engineering from a recognized university and age should not be less than 19 years and more than 22 years

AFA - Air Force Academy - Should posses a bachelor's degree with mathematics and physics as a compulsory subject and age should be between 19-23 years

Dear according to your mentioned date of birth you have completed your 23 years, 11 months and 9 days of your age as on - 01-01-2013 which is more than maximum according to the required maximum age limit for AFA section that is why you are not eligible to apply for this examination but dear if you can not apply for AFA then you must apply for IMA because board requires 24 years maximum age for this exam and you have the last chance to apply for this examination that is why you must try to make your career in IMA section under defense sector and you should apply for this exam between - 25-05-2013 to 24-06-2013 and you can appear for this examination at - 08-09-2013

NO YOU ARE NOT ELIGIBLE FOR AIR FORCE ACADEMY THROUGH CDSE.
CDSE is a entry for all three wings ,it allows entry in air force through Air Force Academy.
But the age limit for CDSE(AFA) is 19 to 23 years(BUT AT THE TIME OF COMMENCEMENT OF THE COURSE,NOT AT THE TIME OF APPLYING FOR THE COURSE).

The age limit mentioned above is applicable when the course id due to commence,but not at the time of applying for the course.
Actually CDSE has three stage of selection
1)Written exam.
2)SSB(Service Selection Board) interview.
3)Medical Fitness.

Now it takes exactly time of 1 year to complete all the procedure of selection,hence it is required that when you apply you must have one year extra in hand.As through the procedure of selection,it will take 1 year extra.

Now your age at current is 23 years+,when the course will start you will be of 24 years +,making you ineligible to apply.
When you apply your age must be between 18 to 22 years,so that when the course will commence you will be well within the criteria.

But your age is passed away from the required age because you crossed the maximum age limit of 24 years for the CDS exam.

So you are not eligible for the CDS exam.

There is no age relaxation in CDS exam.

The age limit required for appearing in CDS exam for Airforce i.e. AFA is 19-23years.As your age is over 23 years you are unfortunately not eligible for AFA.You can apply for IMA or OTA if you wish as these have age limit of 24 and 25years respectively.At your age you are ineligible for both Air force and Navy through CDS.
