1. you must have the Indian citizenship.


age required:-

* for general category:- 21-30 years.

* for obc category: 21-33 years.

* for sc/st category:- 21-35 years.


selection process:- Three stages.

* prelims examination.

* mains examination.

* Interview.

attempts allowed:-

* for general category:- 4 att.

* for obc category:- 7 att.

* for st/sc category:- No limit.

Lot of people here at this forum will encourage you to go ahead. But I would like to put things in right perspective. You are now 27 yrs of age, so you have only 2 chances left. You will require atleast 1 year to complete your preparation and that too when you study full-time. If you do not want to study full-time then you will require even more time. so, you will be able to give at max 1 attempt with full preparation. And your chance of cracking civils in that one chance will be 1 in 350. So, take your final decision considering all these.

Dear you are absolutely right about the decision but you should not think that you have very less time to prepare for this examination and you would not get selected in the examination easily, dear if you study hard only for 1 year complete and get good command over each and every subject of the syllabus then you can easily get qualified in the examination and you should not afraid of study for a long time everyday, you should join any good coaching institute which provides the better study and result for civil service examinations and must provide at least 12 hours everyday only for study and for that you would have to leave your working because the civil services can only be cracked after studying at least 12 hours everyday so that dear if you are really interested in the civil services and wants to become an IAS officer then you will have to leave your job and study full time then you would be eligible to get this post

You can do it if you really want to do it .What all you needed is strong determination and strong will to crack it.

You can do it if you prepare a time table for you to study the exam syllabus.
Daily study is most important.

If you are able then you can also opt for any Institutions or coaching centres because they help you more smartly in your mission.
