Hello there,
>> Being a 3rd year B.Tech student in Information Technology,I would personally recommend you to wait for another year,if you are so keen to appear for the exams conducted by the UPSC.
>> You will have a better chance of doing this when you are in the final semester of your 4-year B Tech course.
>> Also, just make sure that the college you belong to,has the university recognized by the AICTE.
>> When in the final year of your B.Tech IT course, you can apply for the following examinations that are conducted by the UPSC ::
[01] CIVIL SERVICES EXAMS.
[02] INDIAN ENGINEERING SERVICES EXAMS.
[03] INDIAN FOREST SERVICES EXAMS.
[04] COMBINED DEFENSE SERVICE EXAMS.
[05] CENTRAL POLICE FORCE EXAMS.
At present, you can also appear for the SPECIAL CLASS RAILWAY APPRENTICE EXAMS,if you are less than 21 years of age.
= However, this is not recommended because even if you qualify the SCRA exams, then you will have to undergo studying Mechanical Engineering for a period of 4 years, which is not a good option, you having completed your IT for 3 years now.
= Hence, the other 5 examinations are the best for you.
>> To look for further details and notifications of any of these examinations, visit the official website of the UPSC :: www.upsc.gov.in !
all the best.
