Re: Is it possible to appear in IES examination after completing B.Tech in Instrumentation?

Yes absolutely, you can appear for the IES exams in the Electronics & Telecommunication stream as there are no specific recruitment for Instrumentation only as such. The thing is you have to study some extra subjects which you didn't have in instrumentaion stream as such but which are very much relevant and specific to electronics & telecommunication stream but that you can manage very well because the base of both is electronics and that you have a fair knowledge right?SO,don't worry,go for it.Good Luck!

Yes you are eligible for UPSC IES ( Indian Engineering Services ) Exam as you are an engineering graduate .

But you can not write the exam with your own stream (Instrumentation) and you have to choose one of the mechanical/ electrical/civil/electronics as your subject for exam
; and so you have to study some topics which are not covered in your course of Instrumentation engineering.
