Re: Will I be eligible for IAS/IFS having a moderate height?
=========================================
Hi,
See,the height of the candidate does not hold any importance if you are appearing for the IAS/IFS exam.
These exam have restrictions on the age and education qualifications of the candidate.
So,you are fully eligible for the exams as far as the height is concerned.
Rest you need to see that you also fulfill the age and education criteria!
Best of Luck for the future!
Yes dear definitely means there is no problem about your hight if you are not good in hight because there is no rule and regulations about the physical standards for IAS and IFS - Indian Administrative Service and Indian Foreign Services but UPSC board require physical standards for the post of IPS - Indian Police Service and you are not interested in that means you may apply for IAS and prepare well for examination and you should have following eligibility criteria to apply for IAS exam :
A bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university and if you are pursuing final year of your degree then also you may apply for this exam
Age should not be less than 21 years and more than 30 years and relaxation in upper age as per government guidelines which is 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC category candidates
You should reach to the final year of your degree of engineering then you would be eligible to apply for this exam and for more details and informations you should keep visiting at www.upsc.gov.in
If possible then you should join any coaching institute to prepare for this exam because it would be easy for you to prepare for this exam with your graduation and give time only for your study and if you start your study from now then you would learn so many things and complete the syllabus till final year of your degree and it would be easy to crack prelims exam for you when you will apply.
All the best
dear aspirant,
yes, of course you can apply for IAS post with your moderate height. for the post of IAS, UPSC conduct Civil Services exam every year.
to become eligible for Civil Services exam you just need to complete your graduation in any disciple.
Civil Services exam constitutes three parts:
1. CSAT

for appearing in exam you have to fulfill some other requirement like:

and you must have attained the minimum age on same date and you have not attained the upper age on similar date.

Thanks for the ones who answered.I REALLY WANTED TO ASK THIS QUESTION
Dear Friend
IFS,IAS,IPS are the respectable services for which the UPSC conducts the civil services examinations every year. These services are alloted to a candidate depending upon the rank secured by a candidate.
Height does not play an important role in civil services examinations. When you will clear all three stages of civil services examinations and if IPS is alloted to you then only height factor will come into existence other wise for IAS,IPS it has no importance.
As already you have mentioned that you are not interested in IPS then there is nothing to worry ,just fill the application form at www.upsconline.nic.in which start from 02/02/2013 and will end on 04/03/2013.
Make sure that you fulfill the age and academic requirement that is bachelor's degree and 21-30 years with relaxations applicable to obc an d sc/st respectively.
Hope the information helps you.
All the best for the preparation and examination.May god bless you with success.

Re: Will I be eligible for IAS/IFS having a moderate height?
Hi friends,
Well dear height factor does not have any effect for ias and ifs.for ips it is necessary to have a certain height.
so you can apply for civil services exam to join in ias and ifs.
ELIGIBILITY:--------
1st----You must have an indian citizenship.
2nd---you must have graduation degree from a recognised university in any stream.
age limit:---------
1st-----general-21 to 30 years.
2nd-----Obc-21 to 33 years.
3rd-----Sc/st-21 to 35 years.
Friend, you don't need to worry about the height if you want to give IAS/IFS as they don't require any physical qualification. But if you want to give CDS or IPS then you should have a good height.
