Sorry but the options for choosing subjects is limited only to the mains exams conducted by the UPSC.
There is no such provisions now for choosing subjects in the preliminary exams.
The preliminary exams consists of two objective type papers carrying 200 marks each.
    They cover the questions on general studies,Indian history,world geography,current affairs,basic numerical ability,reasoning,aptitude,comprehension,etc.
This exam is compulsory for everyone without any choice of electing subjects.

    Dear Guest,

    * Now the subjects for preliminary exam is compulsory and single for every candidate participating in exam.

    * At present UPSC exam conducts CSAT for CSE and thus in prelims there is no option to change the subjects.

    * In mains exam once you selected the subjects and applied with that subjects then you can't change your subjects after submission of form.
