IES(Indian Engineering Services) Exam is conducted by UPSC every year for various posts in technical field. for IES you need to complete Engineering degree in any discipline from recognized college or university. you can also apply for IES while studying in final year of Engineering.
you can only write IES exam by selecting any one from the following four branches:
1. Mechanical Engineering
2. Electrical Engineering
3. Civil Engineering
4. Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering
for IES your age should be within 21 years to 30 years. There is also relaxation in upper age according to government norms vise 3 years for OBC and 5 years for SC/ST candidates.
If you satisfy the upper eligibility criteria then start preparation. I want to advice you to stop thinking that you are average student. you need to faith on yourself. remember that if you prepare well only then you will crack the exam. for Preparation keep three things in mind Hard work, Willpower and Dedication. if you have willpower, dedicated towards your work and do hard work then success is your and no one can't stop you.

You can select any one engineering subject for IES exam which are suitable for you , subjects such as-
Electrical
Civil
Electronic and Telecommunication
Mechanical
Your age must be under 21-30 years , 3 years of age relaxation for BC candidates and 5 years of age relaxation for SC/ST candidates.
