IES(Indian Engineering Services) Exam is conducted by UPSC every year for various posts in technical field. for IES you need to complete Engineering degree in any discipline from recognized college or university. you can also apply for IES while studying in final year of Engineering.
you can only write IES exam by selecting any one from the following four branches:
1. Mechanical Engineering
2. Electrical Engineering
3. Civil Engineering
4. Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering


for IES your age should be within 21 years to 30 years. There is also relaxation in upper age according to government norms vise 3 years for OBC and 5 years for SC/ST candidates.

If you satisfy the upper eligibility criteria then start preparation. Yes, you can crack IES exam .For that exam you should be graduate in engineering and also can apply in last year of engineering graduation.

You can select any one engineering subject for IES exam which are suitable for you , subjects such as-

Electrical
Civil
Electronic and Telecommunication
Mechanical

Your age must be under 21-30 years , 3 years of age relaxation for BC candidates and 5 years of age relaxation for SC/ST candidates.

Yes an average can crack IES continues preparation .for getting seat in IES one should follow the steps to gain more marks :

• prepare the previous years papers to know the model
• maintain proper time table
• take mock tests
• cover all the topics because we dont know which topic the weight-age will be there
• take a good diet during the preparation to put more effort than usual
• analysing is more important than covering the topics
• if you want have better guidance then take a good coaching
• stress the important topics
