I completed B.Tech in IT.Is SSC the only to enter into customs?what is the fee for OC-women candidates?when will be the exam of ssc in 2013? subjects to be prepared for the exam?

The SSC conduct the CGL examination every year for the post like SI in CBI,Prevention officer, Inspector in Income Tax, Custom officer etc.. The qualification for it is to pass the Bachelors degree at any recognized university in any discipline. The Advertisement is published at the time of April month every year. And the stages of the examination is three tiers. First is Tier-1 and Second is Tier-2 and third is Personal Interview. The Tier-1 examination is generally held in the month of June. So to know the particular date of time, you have to check the website www.ssc.nic.in and the examination calender which is published in the month of October for 2013 year calender. After the successful completion of the Preliminary, Main and PI, You can choose IRS(Indian Revenue Service) where you can join as the Custom officer. The SSC is not the only way to join in Custom department as an officer. You can also appear the CSAT examination of the UPSC which is conducted in the month of May-June every year. The date of advertisement is December every year. There is no fee for the women candidate in the both SSC and UPSC. The age for the SSC is 21-27years. while in the UPSC it is 21-30years for OC. No friend, SSC is not any single way to get entry in Custom department.

Custom department also conducts some recruitment. Exams

But SSC is a best way to get entry in Custom department as well as other department.

Through single SSC application you can be appear for several posts.

The posts will be allotted as per your rank.

For the posts of Custom Officer you will have to appear in CGL (Combined Graduation Level) exam.


Required qualification for CGL exam

You should be graduated in any stream from recognized university or its equivalent.

Age must be between 18 to 27 years

Age relaxation as per government norms

You must be Indian.
