To join the custom department you should appear in the Combined Graduation Level exam which are organized by the SSC.
CGL exam is organized every year at national level. This exam is not organized only Custom post but also some other post like income tax assistant, sale tax assistant, Auditor, Compiler etc.
You can also apply for all these post through single CGL exam. In application form you will have to choose the order of post as per you interest.
Conditions for CGL exam
You should have bachelor degree in any stream from valid university.
There is no certain percentage required to apply for CGL exam.
The age limit for general candidates is 18 to 27 years.
The age limit for SC/ST candidates is 18 to 32 years.
The age limit for OBC candidates is 18 to 30 years
You must have Indian citizenship.
