    Hello,

If you are BHMS Doctor then you can apply for IAS/IPS examination. You cannot go through Combine Medical Examination CME . But for the Administrative Jobs you can apply.

If you want you can choose any subjects from any stream SCIENCE, COMMERCE, ARTS.

But I suggest you to take Arts Subjects like History, Political Science, Sociology, Psychology, Philosophy etc. You need only the good writing skills for these subjects and then you can absolutely Crack the Exam.

After that you have to go for the Question Pattern of Exam so you should download and print Previous Years Question Papers from www.upsc.gov.in
Model Test Papers and Sample Papers are most important for Practice.

    Wish you all the best,

    Dear Aspirant,
Being a Doctor, the best choice for you is to go with MEDICAL SCIENCES as one of your optional subject. You might know this subject well, and this is the most important thing for these exams.
But anyways, there is no restriction upon you choosing subjects,so you can surely choose any subject of the Science,Commerce or the Arts stream.
Its also important to take note that the arts subjects such as Indian History and Public Administration are considered to be highly scoring and even beneficial at the preliminary and the interviews.
You should do detailed study of that subject and practice a lot of model papers.
    This would help.
    Good Luck.

dear friend to apply for civil services examination you can opt for any of the subjects may be of arts, science or commerce but in my opinion to get through you should go with the arts subjects as you can get easy knowledge on these subjects and that too very healthy

THERE ARE 9 PAPERS IN MAIN EXAM.
EACH HAVING TIME DURATION 180 MINUTES.
PAPER VI, VII, VIII, IX ARE OPTIONAL PAPERS.

YOU CAN CHOOSE ANY SUBJECT IN U.P.S.C. (CIVIL SERVICE) MAINS EXAM.
BUT AS YOU ARE A DOCTOR, ITS BENEFICIAL FOR YOU TO TAKE MEDICAL PAPERS LIKE MEDICAL SCIENCE, BOTANY, ZOOLOGY ETC.
HOWEVER YOU CAN ALSO TAKE ENGINEERING & ARTS PAPERS FOR THE EXAM.
    CHOICE IS YOURS.
BUT PSYCHOLOGY & SOCIOLOGY PAPERS ARE VERY MARK FETCHING PAPERS.
    YOU CAN ALSO TAKE THEM.
