hi aspirant
Minimum Educational qualification for IES is Graduation.
There is no any percentage required.....
you must be a passed graduate.
Dear if you have completed B.Tech in Electrical Branch with 57% marks and took 5 years to complete your bachelor's degree on the place of 4 years that is minimum duration to complete BE or B.Tech degree then also there is no problem at all in applying for Indian Engineering Service Examination because minimum required educational qualification is - Obtained a degree in Engineering from a University incorporated by an act of central of State Legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as universities under section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act 1956
There is no specific requirement about percentage marks in any academic class by the board so you should not worry and just apply for this examination because you are 100% eligible. Age criteria also matters in this test and that is - Minimum required age 21 years and should not be more than 30 years. If you cross maximum age limit and belongs to reserved category so you can claim for upper age relaxation according to government norms - 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC
This year's IES Examination has been conducted between June-July 2013 so next year's IES examination notice will be announced around the same time so you should wait for that but also be prepared for IES 2014 so you could easily secure more than required qualifying marks and get job
