There is no such criteria in civil services exam that who are post graduates are given more preferences,this myth is false.And in my opinoin you should not be worried about the %age of people clearing the exam in their first attempt but you just focus on your hard work....
No, dear it is not true that post graduate candidates get more preference for civil service. Any one can get same preference who have Bachelor degree from recognized university. 25% around percentage of people clear civil exam in their first attempt.

That is a complete rubbish rumour,nothing else,yes it is a rumour and there is no such concept of giving special preferences to the post graduates,it is rubbish.
It is not necessary to think that way regarding the UPSC exams(civil services),the percentage is a never a issue,you just need to work hard for the exam,there is no such concept that the candidates can not clear the exam in the very first attempt,work harder nothing is impossible then.
Nearly 15-20% candidates pass the civil services in the first attempt.
