    Hi Friend!

The answer to your question is definitely NO.

All graduates are eligible to write the UPSC exams.

    There's a subject in the Civil Service Exam(CSE) : Commerce & Accountancy

you need to go through Civil Service Exam(CSE), the most popular misnomer 'IAS exam' or 'UPSC exam'.

There are two phases in CSE.

    They are

1)Civil Service Aptitude Test(CSAT) or Preliminary Exam

    2) Civil Service Main Exam

Note: You must know that those who've qualified CSAT are only eligible for the Civil Service Main Exam.

    Qualification for OBC category:

    Educational: Graduate

    Age: 21-33yrs

Note: there is a considerable age relaxation for special category like Blind, Deaf-Mute, etc.

    Number of attempts: 7

    Dear Friend

Who has said that commerce students are not eligible for UPSC exams? It is totally absurd and wrong.Any candidate who has done his graduation in any stream is eligible for the UPSC exams.

After completing your B.com (bachelor of commerce),you can give the UPSC examinations like Civil services for which eligibility criteria is :

    >>Graduation from a university recognised by UGC and if distace then by DEC and UGC both.

    >>IFyou are in the final year of your b.com then also you are eligible for this exam.

You should have attained the minimum age of 21 years for appearing for this exam.

Upper age limit: for general:30 years

    >>For sc/st: 35 years

    >>For OBC: 33 years.

    Nationality: Indian.

    No of attempts:

    Open category: 4

    >>Obc: 7

    >>SC/ST :no limit.

note: Being a commerce student ,you have to hard labour as the questions come form science, mathematics and general awareness which includes questions from all subjects.

You are also eligible for other examinations like CDS,CPF etc

For online application you can visit www.upsconline.nic.in.

If you have any confusion you can leave your message here.
