Hi Aspirant
Well one thing dear i want to clear that
According to me that you have to choose the optional subject
In which you have interest as it will be scoring subject for you
No doubt as if you have interest in any of the subject
Than automatically you will score a good score
But arts subjects are normally more scoring subjects than any other
As subjects like History and Public Administrator
Are scoring subjects but the final decision is your's
So take the subjects as optional in which you have interest
As for the exam the Candidate should be pass in graduation
From a recognized Indian university or
The final year candidates are also allowed for the exam
The Age required for the exam is 21 to 30
Age relaxation for the obc 21-33
Also for the sc,st 21-35
Number of Attempts :
4 attempts for general
7 attempts for obc
unlimited attempts for sc,st
Nationality :
Indian
Best of luck

Chemistry is not a popular optional subject among the mains candidates.
The scope of the syllabus for the optional subject papers for the examination is broadly of the honours degree level. Many people apply for this exam with bachelor's degree only, so they find the syllabus for chemistry as vast which is difficult to cover.
And there is not much guidance available for you like how to present the papers, how to score more marks, strategy for preparation etc. Almost no coaching institutes offer coaching for chemistry optional. So it is not very popular.
But dont think that is is not high scoring subject. there are candidates who have come successful in this examination with good scores.
In civil services exam 2009, 9 candidates have cleared the exam with chemistry as an optional subject.
If you think you are good in chemistry and you can prepare yourself then you can go ahead with it.
ALL THE BEST
hi,
it is nice that you are m.sc graduate from a recognized university.
therefore you should choose chemistry as optional subject.
you know well about chemistry.
according to my view,
everyone should choose optional subject related to his graduation subject.
i hope you understand it.
thank you..........
Dear Sanjay,
Yes definitely you can choose Chemistry if you qualification is M.SC in Chemistry.
In fact you will be at an advantage since you know your subject pretty well being from similar background of qualification.
Many candidates opt for subjects relating to their qualification and they succeed in it.
So you should also do the same.
If you know your subject pretty well and can prepare for it than you should go ahead with it.
Also check out it's syllabus first and look out for notes and books which are available in your area.
It will be very helpful in your preparation.
Hope it guides you well.
All the best.
Regards.
There is no such scoring subject especially for postgraduates. As you have completed M.Sc,it can be presumed clearly that you have a sound knowledge in your subject.Even if you do not have very good command, still it is better to do a bit more hardwork on your own subject rather than selecting a totally new subject and then start from ground level.Science subjects are scoring subjects as there is scope of numericals also.So better would be to stick with your own subject and give more emphasis on it than wasting time for thinking about other scoring subjects.
DEAR FRIEND,
AS YOU ARE M.Sc CHEMISTRY THEN YOU MUST BE MASTER COMMAND ON CHEMISTRY, SO YOU MUST CHOOSE CHEMISTRY
AS A OPT. SUBJECT .
CHEMISTRY IS NOT A HARD SUBJECT AND YOU CAN EASILY CRACK IT.
SO ACC. TO ME CHEMISTRY IS BEST FOR YOU.
GOOD LUCK!!!
HAPPY TO HELP YOU
