The UPSC doesn't conduct any such examination for CBI officer. But If you qualify the CSAT examination for IPS(Indian Police Service), then You can go for the CBI as an officer. You can also join as a SI in CBI after qualifying the Combined Graduate Level examination conducted by SSC(Staff Selection Commission). Best of Luck and Thanks...

according to me there is no direct entrance for the CBI Officer for the Fresher.

U can apply for the junior level position in CBI department through staff selection commission.

The examination is done in three phases ::


Written test

Medical Test.


The paper in examination consists of following questions


General Intelligence Reasoning
General Awareness
Numerical Aptitude
English Comprehension




Eligibility ::


You should be between 20-25 years as on 1st January of the year of examination. The
upper age limit may be relaxed in respect of the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes,
Other Backward Classes.


You must posses degree of a recognized University.

to join in cbi u need to write the CGPE EXAM also called as SSC exam conducted by upsc every year.the exam is done for the post like spp, sub-inspector, asst. public prosecutor . the eligibility is u should be between 20-25 yrs as on 1st january of the year of examination.

If you want to become a CBI officer you need to clear certain stages of an entrance test which is called SSC(Staff Selection Commision) exam.

So work hard for it and yeah you should be minimum of 165 Cm. So be prepared and best of Luck

For CBI you need to be satisfied with below criteria.

Central bureau of Investigation i.e CBI is Government undertaking best Inquiring Agencies in India.

Joining into CBI is through CGPE i.e Combined Graduate Preliminary Exam which is Conducted by SSC (Staff Selection Board) Every Year.

This Exam is held Once a year which is in the Month of February.

If you want to join CBI as an Officer through UPSC then you have to Qualify Civil Services Exam and prefer for IPS.
Then only you can join CBI.

The next step to qualify COMBINED GRADUATE LEVEL EXAM of CENTRAL POLICE ORGANIZATION WHICH is conducted by STAFF SELECTION COMMISSION for SUB-INSPECTOR.

You Have to write ssc common graduate level exam

because upsc is not recruiting for cbi

And dear here is the details for ssc common graduate level exam:

Candidate must be pass in graduation from a recognized university

The candidate age must be between 18-27 and relaxation to obc 3 years

And for sc/st 5 and for ph candidates 10 years

dear u need to become office in cbi u have to clear civil services to become IPS and there is combined graduate lavel exam also conduct by ssc to become cbi offcer . ssc give inpector post and civil services provide ACP and above post.
