i am a bsc computer science second year student. after completion i want to join CBI as an ips officer.so what are the methods i am following? if i need civilservice in ips?

Hi Friend,You need Civil Service exam to become IPS officer.IPS exam comes under Civil Services exam.So you need to pass civil services exam.CBI is different then IPS category, first you can become IPS and then you are shifted CBI branch.I hope you will understand.All The Best

The 1st step is to join CBI (central bureau of investigation)as sub inspector is to clear the combined Graduate level exam conducted by staff selection commission.
The candidate who clear the first round then to qualify in the physical fitness round.
The final selection is based on interview.

The candidate hold a bachelor degree in any recognized university is eligible for the exam conducted by SSC.
The required age is 20 to 25 year to apply for the exam.

After internal promotion the CBI inspector join as a IPS (Indian Police Service).
IPS is the top most post of CBI.


If you want to become an IPS, then you will have a good rank in the exam conducted by UPSC. It is another option to join IPS. IPS officer are sent to CBI on the post of SP.state Govt. sent them to CBI when home ministry ask them.
